Methicillin Resistant Staphylococcus Aureus bacteria cause potentially very serious infection which is hard treatable and not so easily to see at the beginning. Regular Staphylococcus is one of most general bacteria and can be regularly found on our skin, nose and throat. Medical researches presented that about 25% of individuals carry this bacteria in natural terms. It is not serious or harmful, unless the individual has a weak immune system. In other case when immune system not react well, this bacteria may cause life-threatening body harm even with fatal consequences.Regular way of this infectious disease transmission is by personal contact with infected individual or MRSA carrier and broken skin tissue, also by gym equipment, toilets, sharing towels and inappropriate hygiene of locker rooms. First symptoms can be described with small bumps (painful) on skin surface that look like acne, this dangerous germ may get into the bloodline through the minor skin trauma (cut, wound) and can cause dangerous infections all over patient’s organic structure.
Most common symptoms to look for are next:
1.) Skin Boils or furuncles are deep infections of the hair follicles, they are normally caused by SA bacteria infection. They are a painful swollen skin region caused by pus.
2.) Carbuncles are bigger than boils, with openings draining pus on the skin. It is caused by SA bacteria infection. Carbuncles are infectious and can spread to other body areas or other people.
3.) Styes or hordeolums are an infection of the sebaceous glands of the Zeis on the eyelashes or the apocrine sweat glands of Moll. They are usually caused by SA bacteria infection or by the blocking of an oil glan on the eyelash.
4.) Impetigo is a bacterial skin infection that is very contagious, most commonly infected are younger children and close contact sports players.
5.) Abscesses are collections of dead neutrophils (pus) that gathered in a cavity as a defensive reaction to prevent the spread of the infection to other areas of the body.
6.) Cellulitis is an medical condition of the skin, it appears most ordinarily on the face or lower leg, but can come out anywhere on the body.
7.) Urinary tract infection is a bacterial infection of the urinary tract. Bacteria gets into the bladder or kidney and they multiply in the urin, witch does not contain bacteria usually.
8.) Bloodstream infection or bacteremia is the invasion of bacteria in the bloodstream. Bloodstream infection can occur due to a surgical procedure, injection, infection or wound. It can pass without symptoms or can lead to septic shock, witch can lead to death.
MRSA can also cause wound infections, smallpox, influenza and postoperative suppuration. This type of staph infection is diagnosed with lab exams, that can give us a answer within 48 hours, but newer DNA examination can give us a result within a couple of hours. In case that final results are positive, MRSA is processing with variety of antibiotics, specifically designated for each patient to achieve maximum efficiency. But lately there are more and more stories of this antibiotic not being so effective, because of mutations of the MRSA bacteria.Implementation of preventive standards takes great part in fight against this infection. Medical staff must have accent on individual hygiene, washing and disinfection of hands primarily, patients using band-aids on cuts and injuries. If you discover any of the above symptoms, you should seek medical advice immediately. As earlier is MRSA discovered and healing process starts, there is a great chance that infection will be terminated without critical damaging of organic structure and long term consequences on patient.
About the Author: Family and medical developments, particularly in the fight against MRSA infection make life of Andrew Richardsson totally fulfilled. Special emphasis in researches is given to the recognition of MRSA symptoms and improvement of effectiveness in MRSA treatment.
